but...--is this the day I would?
Could, should, would..what?
Write... about God.
I could write that His mercies (compassion, forgiveness, kindness) are new each and every morning. Now that's worth a rooster crowing about at the crack of dawn!
I could write that His thoughts of us outnumber the grains of sand. Can you imagine? Go ahead and try to count the grains of sand just within a small circle that you draw on the beach. You can't. I know because I have tried. And yet God says that His thoughts of us outnumber the sand--not just the grains inside a drawn circle...but all the grains of sand! It is not just His thoughts of 'us' that outnumber the grains of sand but His thoughts of just you...or me...singular not plural. (Psalms 139: 18a)
I could write that God says--no, it's even more than that--He declared (proclaims, swears by)...that He has a plan for each one of us. Really?! Yes! His plan is for each of our good and not for harm. His plan is to give each of us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
I could write that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Nothing. Well, what about? No, nothing. Yea, but? No, nothing! (Romans 8:38)
I could write that God will never forsake (abandon or give up on ) us. Everywhere we are--He is with us. Yes, everywhere. Yes, even there. Makes you think, doesn't it? (Deuteronomy 31:8)
I could write that God has written each of our names on the palm of His hand! (Isaiah 49:16a) I usually hold on tightly to those that are most precious to me, holding hands with my husband, cupping the face of my precious children...yet, hands down, God engraving the names of those precious to Him on His palm, is the ultimate permanent mark of love.
I could write that God loves us with an ever-lasting love (Jeremiah 31:3)-that means lasting forever! Although I love my husband and children very much-still my love for them is at best conditional. However, there is one--only one--that can love us unconditionally...all the time...no matter what...and that is God! You know--the One who indelibly (unable to be removed, unable to be forgotten) affixes each of our names upon the palm of His hand!!
There is so much more that I would write...about God's attributes...however, to do so would fill volumes and take from now...and beyond...eternity. So to avoid writer's cramp or in this 21st century--carpal tunnel syndrome--from excessive tying on the computer keyboard...I will give my fingers a Sabbath (temporary rest)!
However,
I should write that *this God* is with the big G. Not a little g. There is only one God with a big G. So let's be clear that I am not writing about a little g, or a man, or a prophet or a fat belly statue...really..I don't know about you...but I want the real thing only and the only real thing is God aka Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 8: 5-6)
