R your hearts Ready for the New Year?

What a fun time in God’s Word this morning!
Learned so much---I wanted to share.
I am going through the book of Luke.Today, Chapter 5, verses 1-11.

‘R your hearts Ready for the New Year?’

Verse 3---Simon put his boat out to shore for Jesus out of Routine (common practice)

Verse 4---Simon replied to Jesus’ Request ‘to put the boat in deeper water and let down the nets for a catch’ with Reluctance and Resistance

Verse 5b: then Resigned himself to letting down the nets only ‘because Jesus said so’

Verse 6: Results of Simon’s relinquishing to Jesus’ request—he ‘caught such a large number of fish
that the nets began to break and he needed additional men to help with the catch
… their boats were so full that both boats began to sink’

Verse 8: When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees—in Realization—of who Jesus is

Verse 8b and who he was—‘a sinful man’—needing to Repent (turn away from sin, self, situations, style of life and turn to God)

Verse 10b: God’s Requirement of Simon—‘Follow me’

Verse 11: Simon’s (and other fishermen’s) Response was that they ‘left everything and followed Him’
